Sleepyhead

So many of you won't know this (I mean how WOULD you know...you don't know me) but many moons ago I was once in a band and we called ourselves "Sleepyhead". I played lead guitar, did backup vocals and I also wrote all of the lyrics for our one and only solo album, also titled Sleepyhead. Anyway, I got browsing through a bunch of old stuff today and came across our CD so I thought I'd include a song and lyrics that kinda depict what I'm going through right now. The song is called "Sometimes I Hear You Cry" and actually when I wrote the lyrics I was doing so from an outsider's perspective and how they might view one of my depressive episodes. So, here goes...hope you enjoy. (Lyrics are at the bottom)
"Sometime I Hear You Cry"
hey little girl blue
why are you sad today
has life been bringing you down
people try to come near
but you just seem to push away
and pretend that no one else is around
was it something that was done
was it something that was said to you
did you turn and close up inside
take a shelter in a world but you’re so far from the truth
it’s gonna tear you up and eat you alive
sometimes i hear you cry
it makes me wonder
sometimes i hear you cry
why should i care
sometimes i hear you cry
it pulls me under
and i’m trapped with you in your despair
have you found anybody you can blame
for the fallen world
trapped in a web of desire
struggle hard to break free
but you might miss in the world
you’ll get burned if you keep playing with fire
sometimes i hear you cry
it makes me wonder
sometimes i hear you cry
why should i care
sometimes i hear you cry
it pulls me under
and i’m trapped with you in your despair
are you ever gonna turn around
are you ever gonna make a sound
are you ever
are you ever gonna stand and face the crowd
you gotta speak if you wanna change
stand up
speak out
or say it loud now
sometimes i hear you cry
it makes me wonder
sometimes i hear you cry
why should i care
sometimes i hear you cry
it pulls me under
and i’m trapped with you in your despair
sometimes i hear you cry
it makes me wonder
sometimes i hear you cry
why should i care
sometimes i hear you cry
it pulls me under
and i’m trapped with you in your despair
